Restore. Celebrate. Transform.

TCC uses authentic and traditional Kintsugi lacquer methods to turn breaks and chips into visible, honored repairs.

Why TCC?

Authentic, durable craftsmanship — time-honored Kintsugi with modern materials.

  • Tailored preservation — from tea bowls and plates to glass and wooden objects, the repair done on these items will last for a VERY long time.

  • Sustainable — extends life and reduces waste. Urushi lacquer is sustainable, and kintsugi emphasizes environmental protection, and the renewal of every-day iems.

  • Local care — TCC is a Colorado small business, LGBTQIA+ owned and operated, and emphasizes deep care over the client’s relationship to their repaired items.

  • Artistic results — repaired lines become a meaningful new aesthetic and a reminder that even broken things can become something beautiful.

Pricing Overview

Because of the nature of kintsugi repair, pricing reflects the amount of time it takes to repair a piece, the cost of materials (which fluctuates a great deal), and the risk TCC takes in repairing a valuable antique. Below are some basic minimum starting prices for basic repairs, leading up to more complex repairs.

Minimum order is $100 USD (does not include fees, taxes, and shipping). The final finish request may influence this price a little bit (especially for rare metals like pure gold, platinum). This includes one crack (including small hairline fixes) and one small chip (five milimeters or less)

Two to four cracks (and chips) will range between $150-500, depending on the materials and finish requested by the client.

For pieces with severe damage and extended fill-in, repair will need to reflect the amount of time it will take to make the piece whole again. Pricing will be custom to the actual process and finish requested by the client. Please reach out to TCC for details and to collaborate on what sounds right.

Typical Repair Experience

  • Client reaches out to TCC to ask for a repair estimate

  • TCC will respond to client within 2-4 business days to approve or deny repair request.

    • (If approved) TCC will include an estimate of repair, and an overview of (generally) how long it will take to repair the item.

    • If client agrees to the estimate, TCC will send a “Repair Disclosure” for the client to sign, which includes shipping information for the client.

    • 40% of the total estimate is due upon signing. This helps TCC ensure materials, time, and cost are covered should the client decide to change their mind and ask for the piece back at any time in the middle of the repair cycle. This is non-refundable.

  • Once TCC receives the item(s),repair will begin within the estimated timeframe.

  • As needed, TCC will provide repair updates to the client with pictures.

  • TCC will send an invoice for client to pay for repairs rendered (which is the 60% that hasn’t been covered).

  • TCC will securely package the item and ship it to client.

NOTE: For clients that wish to have pure gold powder for their piece’s finish, know that globally, gold is sitting at a massive high. 1g of gold powder for kintsugi costs between $280-$350, but the price is volatile. There are cheaper alternatives available if that price is inaccessible. Most smaller pieces with moderate damage demand anywhere from .5g-2g of gold, as an example. TCC will work with you to figure out what feels right.

*** 40% deposit is required - this covers materials, artist’s time, and secures your spot in the repair queue.

*** Before shipping of the finished piece occurs, client must pay the remaining 60% of the invoice. TCC will initiate this.
